A night of sparkle, dreams, and unforgettable memories awaits you at the Northwoods Homeschool Prom, hosted at the Braham Event Center.
This year’s event invites you to a night filled with wonder, nature, and timeless whimsy. Imagine walking beneath a glowing canopy of twinkle lights, hanging vines, and soft moss, where every corner of the room feels like part of a Whimsical Wonderland.
Whether you're new or have been part of the homeschool community for years, this is a night to come together, make new friends, and celebrate who you are in a setting that feels magical and unforgettable. Picture dreamy lanterns lighting your way, gentle music floating through the trees, and the feeling that you’ve stepped into a storybook.
Dress in your prom best — whether that’s elegant, whimsical, or uniquely you. From fairy-tale gowns and enchanted suits to subtle wonderland-inspired touches, your style helps bring this magical world to life.
Let’s make memories under the trees — full of laughter, dancing, and joy.
Welcome to the Whimsical Wonderland.

Northwoods Homeschool Prom, Inc. was born out of friendship, faith, and a shared vision among two homeschool moms — Lori Ristow and Diedre Zelin.
Each of them saw a need within their homeschool community: a desire for students to experience the joy and togetherness of a traditional prom, but in a way that reflected their values, faith, and family-centered approach to life.
What began as a simple idea on a phone call between the two soon grew into something much bigger — an annual celebration that brings homeschooled students from across Wisconsin and Minnesota together for an elegant evening of music, laughter, and memories. From the very beginning, the founders knew this event could be more than just a dance — it could be a way to bless others. That’s why every prom also helps support local ministries and outreach programs that serve youth, adults, and families in need.
Together, these women share a passion for creating something meaningful — a prom that celebrates not just milestones, but community, generosity, and faith in action.
“We didn’t just want to plan a prom — we wanted to build a tradition that celebrates homeschooled students and gives back to others.” The Founders

Northwoods Homeschool Prom, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (application pending) serving homeschool families across Wisconsin and Minnesota. We exist to create joyful, faith-centered celebrations for homeschooled high school students while using our events to support charitable ministries and outreach within our communities.
Our mission is to create meaningful and memorable experiences for homeschooled students while using our events to strengthen community relationships and support local ministries and charitable outreach.
We serve homeschool and PSEO high school students and families in Wisconsin and Minnesota, providing them with a safe, inclusive, and faith-based environment to celebrate life’s milestones. Our impact extends beyond our attendees, as each event contributes to outreach programs that bring hope and help to local communities.
We host the annual Northwoods Homeschool Prom and other community events throughout the year. These gatherings offer students opportunities to celebrate milestones, build friendships, and develop leadership skills. Each event also serves as a fundraiser to support ministries and charitable causes that serve families and youth in need.
The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40
This year, we have chosen Renew Hope. Their mission is to inspire a culture against the evils of sex trafficking and renew the lives of women who have survived it.
We believe in community, generosity, and joyful celebration. Everything we do is guided by our faith, our dedication to family-centered values, and our commitment to giving back.
Join us in celebrating students and serving others. Whether you’re a homeschool family, a sponsor, or a community partner, we’d love to have you be part of the Northwoods Homeschool Prom story.
